Paralegal - Litigation

We’re looking for a proactive and commercially-minded Paralegal to join our Litigation Team, supporting on employment tribunal claims from start to finish.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll be closely involved in shaping cases, from digging into the detail and reviewing evidence, to helping build clear, commercially focused defence strategies for our clients. The role involves:
- Employment tribunal case support – assisting our lawyers with the end‑to‑end management of employment tribunal claims, including preparing case summaries, reviewing pleadings, organising evidence, analysing risks, and identifying opportunities to strengthen the defence strategy.
- Document reviews and drafting – reviewing key documents, employer records and correspondence, identifying key issues, and drafting litigation documents such as ET3 responses, witness statement first drafts, supporting schedules and chronologies.
- Bundle preparation and case management – coordinating and preparing hearing bundles, managing deadlines, supporting compliance with tribunal orders, liaising with counsel, and ensuring all documents are accurate, complete and filed on time.
- Tribunal trends – supporting in preparing straight-talking, clear and practical updates for clients regarding interesting cases, trends and legislation updates.
- Welcoming new clients – supporting our lawyers to embed new clients into our processes, ensuring they understand how we manage tribunal matters and are prepared from day one.
A successful candidate will:
- Have completed an LLB, GDL, LPC or other qualifying law qualification to a standard of at least a 2:1 award or equivalent.
- Have completed an employment law elective or have relevant employment law or litigation experience.

Paralegal

- Employment law advice – supporting our lawyers by producing advice and guidance for day-to-day client queries and identifying opportunities for best advice.
- Contract reviews and drafting – reviewing client’s employment contracts, identifying areas for improvement and drafting updates.
- Email update creation – drafting email update content on a weekly basis maintaining Halborns’ straight-talking, practical and commercial style.
- Welcoming new clients – working with our lawyers to embed our new clients and ensure they are set up to hit the ground running to receive advice.
